3 Steps To Unflood A Trimmer Without Tools

by HIPA Jeremy 16 Sep 2022 0 Comments

Flooded, a common problem for small engine machines, means there is too much gasoline in your engine. Here is detailed blog on how to quickly unflood your trimmer.

Reasons

In most cases, the engine is wet and the spark plug is even so wet that it is not capable of producing a spark anymore. The most common reason that your engine is going to be flooded in the first place is from choking. Because some start it according to the starting procedure, they choke it then turn your choke off to start it even the engine had warmed up.

How to

Step 1: You need to open up the carburetor on both sides. It means that turn the choke off, put your choke in the position where it would be. Because if you are running your trimmer or your machine, that is opening up one side of your carburetor while the other side of your carburetor is controlled by your throttle butterfly valve. Then you turn the throttle wide open to make the carb open as well. So there is going to be a straight gush air coming through there.
Step 2: The other things you need to do is prime flooding. You have to pull it fast because the carb is wide open and you can not necessarily hard but fast to get the most airflow gushing through the carb. It is going to flow out the muffler to dry off your spark plug.
In some cases, you will find it is hard to pull it over. Because the engine is hydraulic, there is so much gas on the top of the piston that the piston is coming up to the top of the cylinder and it can not squish the gas out.
Step 3: In order to getting more airflow blowing through there, you’d better take the air filter off.

If you think you flooded your engine, the 3 steps above are all you need to do to clear it out.
