Fuel Filter Replacement On A Leaf Blower

by Jeremy HIPA 05 Jan 2023 0 Comments

This blog is a step-by-step instruction for replacing the fuel filter on a Homelite leaf blower. The most common reasons for replacing the fuel filter is the leaf blower is running rough.

Replacement

Before you begin the replacement, you need to make sure the engine has cooled and remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
Step 1: Unthread the fuel tank cap and pull the retainer free of the tank. You can use a wire with a hooked end to pull the fuel filter out and you can also use wire cutters to help slide the retaining spring away from the filter.
Step 2: Then pull the old filter off of the fuel line.
Step 3: Install the new fuel filter by attaching the fuel line. Next slide the retaining spring toward the filter to secure.
Step 4: Push the new filter into the tank. Reinsert the fuel cap retainer into the tank then thread on the cap. Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and refill the fuel tank if necessary and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
