Fuel Tank Replacement On A Leaf Blower

by Jeremy HIPA 10 Jan 2023 0 Comments

This blog is a step-by-step instruction for replacing the fuel tank on an Echo leaf blower. The most common reason for replacing the fuel tank is when the engine is leaking fuel.

Replacement

Before you begin the replacement, you need to make sure the engine and muffler have cooled and the on/off switch is in the off position. You also need to remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.

Step 1: You can use a large flat-head screwdriver to help pry the old grommet free of the tank. Note the orientation of the fuel lines then detach the lines. You will need to release the spring clamp to detach the fuel filter line.
Step 2: Install the new fuel tank grommet by inserting the fuel lines into the appropriate holes. Make sure the connector is in place in the fuel filter line then secure it with the spring clamp. Reattach the fuel line and push the line through the grommet until the spring clamp is flush against it.
Step 3: Reinsert the fuel filter into the tank and push the new grommet into place.

With the repair completed, refill the fuel tank if necessary and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
