Recoil Starter Replacement On A Leaf Blower
This blog is a step-by-step instruction for replacing the recoil starter on a Husqvarna leaf blower. The most common reasons for replacing the recoil starter are if the rope is broken, the rope will not rewind, or the engine will not turn over when the rope is pulled.
Replacement
Before you begin the replacement, you need to make sure the engine has cooled and remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
Step 1: Use a t27 Torx bit or a flathead screwdriver to unthread the screws to release the old starter.
Step 2: Install the new recoil starter by aligning it on the engine. Then replace the screws to secure.
With the repair completed, reattach the wire in boot to the spark plug and your leaf blower should be ready for use.
